Thinking of all the things you need for prom can be difficult. It is easy to forget something and the thought of that happening can really stress a girl out.
Here we have all the things your friends forgot to tell you.
You might want to get a pen and paper and start taking some notes.
Things You Really Need to Think Of
Don’t wait for things to go wrong. By careful planning ahead you can make sure everything goes smoothly on the big night. Here are some ideas to help.
Learn the basics of Prom dancing:
There is nothing worse than being embarrassed on the dance floor so make sure you take the time to figure out what kind of dancing there will be on the night. If you want to learn a bit more about this check out our article on how to dance at Prom. It has a great video as well.
Start losing weight well ahead of time
Getting your body in shape for prom is a journey, not a week of starving yourself. If you really want to feel good and if you have excess weight to lose, start exercising and watching your diet at least 3 or 4 months out from prom. The best idea is to tie it in with a new years resolution.
We have put together some tips on the best exercises that you can do to get in shape for prom.
Plan the After Party:
It’s no secret that students look forward to the post-prom celebration just as much as prom itself. If you are going to an after party, respect your curfew, do not drink and drive, and do not put yourself in any situation you wouldn’t normally be comfortable with.
If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, don’t hesitate to call mom and dad.
Start building up your Prom emergency kit
It is a good idea to start collecting the things you will take on the night in your purse or clutch. Make up a list and get it all ready well ahead of time.
- Blotting paper or Tissues
- Bobby Pins
- Makeup Essentials
- Floss (You don’t want food stuck in your teeth)
- Breath Mints
- Small Deodorant
Break in your shoes
It can be a really good idea to break in your shoes well before the big night. For more tips on how to spare yourself the pain of high heel hell, this article will help.
Help your Date with everything
Sometimes boys can be a little bit unorganized and this is where we are going to suggest that you help them out. Here are some of the things you should get involved with to make sure that no stone is left unturned.
- The transport
- His Tux
- His Dancing
- Buying the Corsage
- Organizing plans throughout the night
Maybe your date has it all together, but unfortunately, many guys have been known to forget to plan things so it is best to keep in touch on it.
You don’t want your corsage to clash with your outfit. You should let your date know what you’re wearing so he doesn’t buy something that completely ruins your look.
Once you know what your date is wearing, a simple trip to a florist will help you pick the right flowers and design for the corsage and boutonniere.
Don’t Stress Too Much
The main thing to remember is that everything will work out on the night. Especially if you do the planning and groundwork to help to cover off some of the most forgotten things.
